Year 5 had an exciting trip to Hartsdown Academy for a day of science fun! The children had the opportunity to look at light refraction and were able to investigate the effectiveness of bird's beaks using Charles Darwin's research. A fun experience, thank you Hartsdown! 🥳

The latest growing developments from Brodie, Arlo and Ms Uburgs Brodie is very proud of these plants as you can see! 😍 He also planted a seed from his break time apple and that's started growing too. Hopefully we don't come back after half term to a tree in our office! 🤣

After the recent Netflix programme Adolescence it was apparent how children use emojis to have full conversations with each other, without adults being aware of what is being said. Please see a number of posters that highlight the meanings behind them. Please understand that context matters and that the meaning of the emoji can vary based on the conversation. It is essential to consider the surrounding text, previous messages and relationships between the people communicating.

On Wednesday 19th March, our Year 5/6 boys took part in the annual TKAT football league at Newlands Primary School. The children competed against other schools in our region and performed admirably; with 2 wins, a draw and no losses, the team came first overall and qualified for the 'Finals Day' to be held at Leyton Orient. Well done boys and good luck to the girls who are competing this week!

Last week, Year 5 were given the opportunity to visit Ursuline. The children had the opportunity to create routines on the Olympic style trampolines and also enjoyed bouldering. It was a fantastic opportunity and the children absolutely loved the experience. Have a look at some of these great action shots!
