Personal Development

Our PSHE curriculum gives pupils the knowledge and skills they need to keep themselves safe and healthy.

We want to allow children the space to be curious through questioning and exploring a range of scenarios related to our world. Alongside the ACE project we want children to have a secure sense of self and to celebrate who they are and embrace their diversity and the diversity of others.

Our RSE Policy can be found here.

ACE- A Champion for Every Child

The TKAT ‘A Champion for Every Child’ (ACE) programme provides those children who are eligible for the Pupil Premium with personalised 1:1 support to help them progress both in terms of academic outcomes and social and emotional development. Each child has their own dedicated ACE Tutor who is trained specifically in helping pupils and their families to identify and overcome barriers to learning at school.

At Salmestone, children and tutors talk positively about the ACE Programme, children sharing that it helps them to feel more confident in school. Activities in ACE sessions include (but are not limited to!) working on emotions, an academic target such as reading, encouraging children to improve their attendance and having lots of fun through creative activities.
